1. I’ve been trying to get back on the healthy eating bandwagon by cutting down on eating out, by cooking at home more, by eating more veggies, and by cutting out most processed foods. I’ve been feeling a lot better and healthier and I’ve already lost 5lbs! Yipee! Only 15 more to go ;)

2. Tonight I cooked up a batch of turkey chili. I used ground turkey, kidney beans, black beans, garlic, onions, fire roasted tomatoes, stewed tomatoes with jalapenos, some chicken broth, and a bunch of spices. It’s been filling up my house with delicious smells for 2 hours now and it’s got another 2 hours to go, but I want nothing more than to dish out a cup right now! I’ll let you guys know how it turns out. I hope it’s delish!

3. I’ll be meeting up with some of my fave gals (Raciel and Jo) this weekend to watch Alice in Wonderland. I’m so excited! Anyone else watching it?

What do you guys have planned for the weekend? =)

P.S. Look out for some exciting new product reviews AND my very first giveaway! =)

1. I’m sick… AGAIN. I have no idea what is going on with my immune system but I’m hoping this passes through a lot more quickly than the cold I had earlier this year.

2. I did my speedwork today. I ran 2x1600m with a 5 min rest interval in between, and of course with a warm-up and a cool down. It felt good and almost too easy. I’m wondering if I’ll need to adjust my time goals. If the next few weeks still feel pretty easy, I may change it.

3. I had a massive amount of King Taco tonight. I haven’t had it in a while and it was GOOD. Sopes mmmmm =9:::::: If you haven’t tried them out yet, you should!

And no, I didn’t eat allllll of that. Just 3 tacos… and 2 sopes =X

It was my first real meal of the day and it came at 10pm. Yeah, add nutrition to the list of topics I need to write about!

It’ll be a short blog post today, folks, because I’m pooped and ready for some much needed sleep!. I normally don’t go to bed before 2am, but today’s been a very long day and my body needs to rest. So, here we go!

1. I double tie the shoelaces on my running shoes because I have a constantly problem with them unraveling as I run. Nothing’s worse than having to stop and tie your shoelaces multiple times during a run! I curious to try Yankz! shoelaces.

Their two selling point is that their shoelaces customized the fit of your shoes to your feet because they have two points where you can adjust the laces, and you never have to tie or untie your laces again. You can simply slip your shoes off. I don’t know about you, but when I get home from a run, the first thing I want to do is take off my shoes but it takes longer than I’d like it to because I double knot. Ok, I know it’s just mere seconds, but those seconds feel like an eternity!

2. The Boy and I had a convo today about the future and where we see ourselves settling down. A long time ago I used to think that I would love to live somewhere else, even for just a year or two. But as time passes and as my parents get older, I find that I’m happier staying where I am. I have deep roots that tie me to LA.

3. It’s weeks like this week that remind me how important sleep is when you’re training. Normally, when I’m not focused on a goal and training hard, I tend to abuse my body and sleep only a few hours. And because I’m not exerting myself from training, my body can usually handle it fairly well. But not so now! For the past few mornings, I’ve been deprived of precious hours of sleep because my stupid association decided that the staircases outside our buildings needed to be redone. For the past TWO MORNINGS, I’ve woken up to the sounds of drills and hammers at 7 in the morning! Freaking bastards! Anyway, I’m totally feeling it now. I wasn’t able to do my P90X workout tonight and will have to double it up tomorrow. Friday night. Man my life is exciting ;)

So, that’s it everyone! Good night =)

Following in the footsteps of many a great blogger, I give you my Three Things Thursday!

1. I recently picked up a 1lb package of Casi Cielo coffee from Starbucks, and I’m soooo in love with it. Usually, when Christmas rolls around, I pick up a ton of their Christmas Blend (my ultimate fave), and I drink that all year round. But Casi Cielo is now fighting for top dog position. When I add cream to it, it’s got this really nice chocolatey taste to it, and what I love is that it’s not really acidic at all. If you’re a coffee fan and you like a good, rich, balanced coffee, give Casi Cielo a shot.

2. Last night I had some of THE best cookies I’ve had in a long time at this immigration law seminar. Christine and I gobbled down FIVE cookies, and I even took home 3 =P They were that good. Ok, so the cookies weren’t exactly part of my whole, eating clean goal for this year, but hey… gotta have a splurge sometimes, right? =)

3. I’ve recently found out about a great little company that sells cute hand-stamped jewelry called Lift Your Sole. They’re a great gift idea for the athlete in your life (whether that’s you or a friend) because they specialize in sports-related designs. If you haven’t checked them out, now’s your chance.  Marlene over at Mission to A(nother) Marathon is hosting a giveaway. Wander over and cast your entry to win $24 to spend at Lift Your Sole. =)

I know I’ve been MIA this past week, but things have just been kinda crazy lately. I’m trying to adjust to a new schedule and also trying to stick to my training plan. We’re going into week 2 right now and so far so good! I’ll be writing a post about how I plan to avoid injury this year, so stay tuned for that!
