I can run 1/4 of a half marathon! yay! =D hahaha

So, I did it. I’m no longer afraid of the distance. I’m pretty sure I can do a half marathon, even if I have to walk most of it. It’s the time that worries me a lot morenow. That’s the hard part =)

So today, I pretty much missed my mark. I was basically 3 minutes off my goal, which was to do 4 miles at a 12:30 minute pace. Here are my stats.

Split 1: 13:12
Split 2: 12:58
Split 3: 13:35
Split 4: 12:51
Split 5: 3:28 (cool down .19 miles)

Average Pace: 13:24 (uhmm this is my pace for my FIRST training schedule!)
Total Calories: 473
Total Distance: 4.19 miles
Total Time: 56:06

I got into a really good running groove in my first mile. Then I struggled through miles 2 and 3. And then, I got into a really great groove in my 4th mile. After I got over the hill, I managed to maintain an 11:30min/mile pace for 3/4 of the 4th mile =D that’s my tempo run pace (faster, actually)!

But yeah, I’m not meeting my goals! I’m going to see how things go with this week’s training and I then I think I’ll have to re-work my schedule. Maybe bump it up to a 12:30 pace or else make my 12:00 pace a longer term goal – so this is probably the time I’ll be running for the LB half. =( I don’t want to give up yet though! I think I need to give my body a chance to catch up. I know I can do it!

P.S. I’ve run more than 100 miles this year! I can’t believe that! =)
