Gonna cram this all in one entry =) haha

I’ve been so lazy about posting lately. Too many things on my mind.

Last Tuesday, I crossed trained on the bike. I rode a little over 10 miles in a little over an hour.

I ran my 4x800m speedwork last Wednesday. Goal was to do each split at 4:58 (9:56 pace).

Warm Up: 0.47 mile in 5:17

Split 1: 4:53
Split 2: 4:55
Split 3: 4:47
Split 4: 4:46

Calories Burned: 319
Shoes: Asics Nimbus

Ran my tempo yesterday. I haven’t done a tempo in about two weeks. My last one was a 3 miler. So this was very, very hard for me. My goal was to do 5 miles at a 10:45 pace. Didn’t really hit it =P But I did do this run, running all the way. Ok, with one or two very brief (< 1 min) walking breaks. =P

Warm Up: 0.47 mile in 5:15

Split 1: 10:49
Split 2: 10:42
Split 3: 11:29
Split 4: 11:19
Split 5: 11:18

Total Time: 55:36
Average Pace: 11:06
Calories Burned: 730
Shoes: Asics Nimbus

I’m not disappointed that I didn’t hit the right pace. I’m just glad I was able to run all the way through, for the most part =) Plus, it IS about 15 seconds per mile faster than my pace for the 5 miler I did last week! So, I guess it does qualify as a tempo!

Today, I’ll be cross training on the bike, and I’ll be capping off Week 6 with a 10 miler tomorrow. I’m a bit nervous about it! Hopefully, I’ll be able to hit the pace just right.

My training hits its peak these next couple of weeks (20+ mileage weeks). I know this probably sounds like peanut mileage for more seasoned runners, but it’s definitely a lot more than I’m used to =)

Here’s what my next two weeks look like before I hit my two week taper.
Long Runs: 11 miler, 12 miler
Tempos: 6 miler, 7 miler (yikes)
Speedwork: 6×400, 4×1600 (double yikes!)
