The Boy and I are going to Hawaii in October (WOO HOO!), about five days after the Long Beach Half Marathon. I would normally leave it up to training to (hopefully) melt the rest of the weight I want to shed (15lbs), but I don’t want to leave things up to just chance. I really want to look decent in a bathing suit for once!
I’ve been thinking a lot about my training this past week. I’ve already talked about my general plan of attack…
Sundays: long runs
Mondays: cross-training (swimming, at least 400m) and pilates
Tuesdays: speedwork and pilates
Wednesdays: strengthening routine and pilates
Thursdays: tempo run and pilates
Fridays: cross-training (biking) and pilates
Saturday: rest
… but I’m now thinking that I might change things up a bit.
So many people have been talking about P90x. I’m sure you guys have heard of it. Getting rockin’ fit in 90 days is tempting, not to mention PERFECT timing for Hawaii. Visions of me feeling carefree and confident at the beach have convinced me to try it out. What do I have to lose, right? So, the pilates and strengthening exericses will be replaced by the P90x workouts. The Boy and I will be starting the program together =) soon. I just need to get some resistance bands and find a place to do pull ups!
