For the past two weeks I’ve been trying to follow the P90X diet and restricting what I eat. I want to shed as much body fat as I can in Phase 1!

Phase 1 calls for a 50-30-20 diet for the first month. That’s 50% protein, 30% carbs, and 20% fat. This is quite a change from the Runner’s Diet I’ve been following (50% carbs, 25% protein, 25% fat). Right now my daily meals primarily include baked/broiled chicken breast (2 a day, 4 servings of protein), a baked potato or a half cup of rice or PBJ (1 serving of carbs), an apple or mango (1 serving of fruit), milk (3 servings of dairy), and tea or coffee. This all pretty much equates to a 1500 diet.

My body is feeling a bit out of wack and my energy is definitely lower. I may have to up my carb intake a bit once my mileage starts building up… maybe even sooner. I totally bonked out in today’s workouts.

I’m gonna try my darnest to stay on this nutritional plan. It really hasn’t been easy so far. My body is craving all sorts of fatty things… most recently it’s been pizza and Indian food. I really thought I was going to break down and get some pizza today, but I fought it and I’m glad didn’t I eat any. Success!

Tomorrow, however, is another day =)
