Running the higher mileage on my training schedule is daunting and I think what was causing my training paralysis. So, instead, I have vowed to take it one run at a time. By the time the Long Beach half hits, I want to be running consistently every day, whether it’s 2-3 miles or whether I’m hitting one of my harder training runs, there needs to be mileage everyday.
Yesterday, I was feeling really inspired and ran a slow 3 miler to try to get my body back into things. I ran the whole way through, no intervals, and I ran primarily in Zone 3. I used this run as an opportunity to re-introduce running to my body, to give my heart and lungs a reminder of what it was like to exert itself, and to give myself a no pressure run. It really helped remind me why I enjoy running.

Shoes: Asics Nimbus 9
I just have to say. I L-O-V-E my Nimbus 9s. I’m sad that I can’t find them anymore because when I put those shoes on, they fit like a glove, and when I run in them, they feel like one with my feet, like I’m not even wearing shoes. I didn’t like the fit of the Nimbus 10 and was less than happy with the Nimbus 11.
More on my shoe search in another post =)
